Traditionally, the on-screen chemistry between actors is one of the biggest draws for the audience. The reason why Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) continues to amass love and frenzy, even fresh audiences at Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir is simply the scintillating chemistry of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. More recently Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh gave us a peek into their oomph chemistry in films like Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela and Bajirao Mastani.
While these remain iconic for good reason, casting directors and producers are looking at creating fresh magic on screen. 2021 has a host of fresh pairings and new camaraderie in the movies up for release. Akshay Kumar will be seen romancing Sara Ali Khan in Atrangi Re and Vaani Kapoor in Bellbottom. While Vaani will also be seen opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Shamshera and Ayushmann Khurrana in Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui. Whereas, Ranbir and Alia Bhatt will finally show their onscreen chemistry in Brahmastra.
On the other hand, Rajkummar Rao’s fresh pairing includes Badhaai Do with Bhumi Pednekar and Roohi Afzana with Janhvi Kapoor. Mrunal Thakur will also be seen opposite Shahid Kapoor in Jersey and Farhan Akhtar in Toofaan.
Meanwhile, Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday will be showing their sizzling chemistry in Liger. Rumored couple Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani are paired opposite in Shershaah.
